The Seven Bells Cottage is modern yet classic. It is located in the beautiful village of Hancock, just off the Schoodic National Scenic Byway. Both sections of Acadia National Park are less than thirty minutes away by car from this excellent summer getaway home base.
This cottage, remodeled in 2021, features a modern open concept floor plan perfect for couples or families to feel connected throughout their stay. There is a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable living and dining room, and a sunroom perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing, hiking, or exploring Downeast Maine. The lower level features two bedrooms and a large full bath with on-site laundry for a convenient extended stay! The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed, and the second bedroom has two full beds.

There is a beautiful patio set and a grill in a covered alcove outside the home, so you can enjoy outdoor cooking during a summer stay. There’s also a large lawn perfect for outdoor games, but there’s a lot of nearby nature ripe for family fun or quiet couples’ retreats from the big city.
We have a lot of favorite hikes and park destinations in our welcome book, plus a lot of Things To Do in the area. Our guests will enjoy visiting the Schoodic area, not least thanks to Schoodic Point’s breathtaking views. Some of the great outdoor activities easily accessible in the area include hiking, kayaking, biking, swimming, and boating, all of which are available within a few minutes of the cottage by car.
Closer to the cottage, less than a mile away, guests can enjoy picnicking at Tidal Falls. Tidal Falls offers walking trails, picnic tables, and a lovely site for sitting by the ocean. Just two miles away is Hancock Point, known for its beautiful homes and views. You can park at Hancock Point to access public beaches on Maine’s famous Atlantic coast. What to Expect In Hancock
Hancock is a sleepy village right on the Maine coast. The year-round population is around 2500. The businesses in town are pretty limited, though there are a couple of restaurants in town. For more serious shopping, you will want to travel West on Route 1 to Ellsworth. If you yearn for the quiet days of yesteryear and want an escape from the hustle and bustle, Hancock is perfect for you, with a tight-knit local community and a commitment to preserving nature and a way of life as personified by the Frenchman Bay Conservancy, a short walk from the cottage.
